Chick-Fil-A was founded by S. Truett Cathy founded the chain in 1967, when the first restaurant was opened in Atlanta, Georgia.

The chain traces its origins to 1946, when S. Truett and Cathy opened a restaurant named Dwarf Grill. In 1961, Cathy found a pressure-fryer that could cook chicken sandwiches instantly. To this date, chicken sandwiches are Chick-Fil-A’s most popular item.
