- The Mahindra XUV700 commands a huge waiting period of 88 weeks, this led to a huge premium on the SUV in the used car market
- An used Mahindra XUV700 AX5 variant is on sale in New Delhi for Rs 2.45 Lakh premium
Mahindra launched the XUV700 in August last year. Undoubtedly it’s a successful product from the brand. Mahindra got 50,000 booking for the XUV700 in just two days. Now booking numbers stand at more than a lakh. Out of the one lakh bookings, Mahindra has delivered less than 15,000 models. This led to a huge waiting period on the XUV700. The waiting period goes as high as 88 weeks on the SUV. Some owners who got their Mahindra XUV700 delivered now looks to cash up the huge waiting period. Here’s one such owner from New Delhi.
Used Mahindra XUV700
The owner demands Rs 22.85 lakh for the Mahindra XUV700 AX5 Automatic Petrol variant. It is 2000km driven model and gets some additional fitments as well. This includes a reverse camera, extended warranty, PU seat covers and rear bumper guard. This XUV700 has a VIP number too (0006) and is only one months old. So owner has tried to incorporate these additional goodies in the deal.
The AX5 petrol automatic variant of the XUV700 starts at Rs 17.70 lakh (ex-showroom). Even the on-road price is Rs 20.40 lakh in Gurgaon. For the asking price of Rs 22.85 lakh one can get the brand new model. But the question is can anyone shell out this much money for the used Mahindra XUV700. If we see the additional fitments and huge waiting period on the car it makes some sense. But still an asking price of Rs 22.85 lakh won’t be suitable for many buyers.
Mahindra XUV700 Waiting Period
Due to huge bookings the XUV700 carries a long waiting period. In most cities the waiting period is more than a year. This includes Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Gurgaon too where the used XUV700 is on sale. The base MX variant carries a waiting period of 22-35 weeks. The AX3 and AX5 both gets a maximum waiting period of 52 weeks. Top-spec AX7 waiting period goes up to 79 weeks while the AX7L carries a highest waiting period of 88 weeks.
The Mahindra XUV700 gets a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engine. Both engines get an option of 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox. The top-spec AX7 gets an AWD option and is in most demand. The Mahindra XUV700 rivals the Tata Safari, Hyundai Alcazar & MG Hector.
