- Jeep will launch the Compass Trailhawk in February while Jeep Meridian will arrive in June, 2022
- Three SUVs are set for launch in 2022 which includes the locally assembled Jeep Grand Cherokee as well
Jeep is all set to introduce three new SUVs for the Indian market. The company has planned to launch the Jeep Compass Trailhawk and three-row Jeep Meridian SUV in 2022. A locally assembled Jeep Grand Cherokee will also debut in India this year.
2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk
The standard Compass SUV received a facelift in January, 2021. At that time the Trailhawk variant was missing. In 2022, Jeep will launch the Compass Trailhawk a year later. The Compass Trailhawk is expected to be available in limited numbers. It will be a diesel variant only. The Trailhawk variant is known for hardcore off-road capabilities. From the standard model, the Compass Trailhawk will get a different four-wheel drive system. We’ll get to know more about it when launch will take place in February, 2022.
The Jeep Meridian is a three-row SUV which will launch in June, 2022. It is already on sale in several international markets. The Jeep Meridian has been spotted numerous times. It is based on the same platform as of the Compass SUV. Due to third row, the Jeep Meridian is larger than its sibling the Compass. The Jeep Meridian will get the same 2.0-Litre diesel engine from the Compass. But it will produce more power as compared to the Compass’ 170hp engine. It is likely that this engine will produce 200hp in the Jeep Meridian SUV.
Jeep Grand Cherokee
A locally assembled Jeep Grand Cherokee is also in the pipeline. Currently, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is a CBU import. A local assembly will make the Grand Cherokee cheaper. When the locally assembled Jeep Wrangler launched in India, the prices went down by as much as Rs 10 lakh. We expect the same with the Jeep Grand Cherokee as well. The Indian-spec Grand Cherokee will get a 290bhp 3.6-Litre V6 engine. Jeep will launch it by September this year.
