Tata Tiago And Tigor CNG
CNG variants of Tiago and Tigor are expected to get current 1.2-Litre petrol engine. This engine makes 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. With CNG, the power and torque figures may decrease. CNG versions of Tiago and Tigor are likely to be manual only.
The CNG powered variants of Tiago and Tigor will not see any styling changes. Both models are expected to look identical to their petrol counterparts. In terms of features too, there will be no any changes in CNG variants. One of the major disadvantages of the CNG will be the less boot space. The CNG cylinders barely left any space for luggage. But in exchange for that one will get better fuel efficiency and low running cost. Both Tiago and Tigor CNG could offer an impressive fuel efficiency of 30km/kg.
The CNG models will be dearer by Rs 40,000-Rs 50,000 as compared to the petrol models. Currently, the price of the Tiago starts at Rs 5 lakh and goes upto Rs 7.12 lakh. Its sibling, the Tigor costs between Rs 5.68 lakh and Rs 7.65 lakh. After launch, both the cars will rival the CNG models of Maruti WagonR and Hyundai Santro. Maruti Suzuki will also launch the Celerio CNG soon in the market.
