Tata Tiago and Tigor CNG Launch In January 2022

CNG models of Maruti Wagon R & Hyundai Aura will get new rival next month in the form of Tiago and Tigor CNG

Tata Motors is all set to offer factory-fitted CNG in Tiago and Tigor. Launch of Tiago and Tigor CNG variants will take place next month. Ahead of launch unofficial bookings have commenced at select Tata Motors dealerships. The company hasn’t made any official announcements yet. The launch of Tiago and Tigor CNG could have happened sooner. All thanks to pandemic related delays and ongoing chip shortage.

No Major Changes expected in CNG variants

CNG variants of Tiago and Tigor are expected to get current 1.2-Litre petrol engine. This engine makes 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. With CNG, the power and torque figures may decrease. CNG versions of Tiago and Tigor are likely to be manual only.

The CNG powered variants of Tiago and Tigor will not see any styling changes. Both models are expected to look identical to their petrol counterparts. In terms of features too, there will be no any changes in CNG variants.

Currently CNG passenger vehicle market is dominated by Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. Both brands offer factory-fitted CNG models. Tata Motors is also set to join the list of automakers who offer factory-fitted CNG models.

At present Tiago costs between Rs. 5 Lakh and Rs. 7.12 Lakh. While Tigor prices are between Rs. 5.68 Lakh and Rs. 7.85 Lakh. After launch Tiago CNG will rival the Maruti Wagon R CNG. Meanwhile, Tigor CNG will compete against Hyundai Aura CNG.
