Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce CNG variants of Tiago, Tigor and Punch cars. In latest, Punch CNG has made it’s first spy shot debut. We’ve seen numerous spy shots of Tiago and Tigor CNG in the past. Launch of Tiago and Tigor CNG variants will take place next month. Ahead of launch bookings unofficial bookings have commenced at select Tata Motors dealerships. Lauch and booking timeline of Punch CNG is yet to be known.
Tata Punch CNG
CNG variant of Punch is expected to get current 1.2-Litre petrol engine. This engine makes 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. With CNG, the power and torque figures may decrease. CNG version of Punch is likely to be manual only.
The CNG powered variant of Punch will not see any styling changes. CNG model is expected to look identical to it’s petrol counterpart. In terms of features too, there will be no any changes in Punch CNG variant.
Currently CNG passenger vehicle market is dominated by Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai. Both brands offer factory-fitted CNG models. Tata Motors is also set to join the list of automakers who offer the same.
At present Tata Punch price is between Rs 5.48 Lakh and Rs 9.08 Lakh (ex-showroom). Tata Motors is all set to rival CNG versions of Maruti Wagon R, Hyundai Aura, Hyundai Santro & upcoming Maruti Dzire. With CNG models of their entry-level products, company will hope to generate good sales volume in coming days.
