- The Tata Altroz got spied with heavy camouflage recently, this hints at the possible launch of Altroz with DCT gearbox
- As of now, The Tata Altroz is available in 5-speed manual transmission only
Tata Motors is testing the Altroz premium hatchback. Recently the car got spied with heavy camouflage with no major design changes. This suggests that the changes could be in the mechanicals of the car.
Tata Motors may soon give Altroz a DCT gearbox as it is available only in 5-speed manual. While launching Altroz iTurbo, Tata Motors has confirmed that Altroz will get Schaeffler-Sourced 7-Speed DCT Gearbox in near future. So finally this could be a DCT gearbox version of Altroz that has been spied.

Tata Altroz DCT
The 7-Speed DCT gearbox will be only available in the top variants of the car. From XT variant, Tata Motors may offer DCT gearbox on Altroz. No other major changes except addition of new colour variant is expected on Altroz DCT.
Rivals like Maruti Suzuki Baleno and Hyundai i20 offers different gearbox options hence they appeal to a wide range of customers. The Baleno offers 5-speed manual and CVT. On the other hand Hyundai i20 is available in 5 & 6-speed manual, CVT as well as 7-speed automatic gearbox options. So addition of DCT in Altroz may help to boost its sales further as it is the second best selling car in its segment.
