Royal Enfield has developed an all-new platform for the Himalayan 450. Few months back, there were reports about the Himalayan 650 as well. The Himalayan 450 will get much powerful engine as compared to the current model. It will generate 40 BHP on the Himalayan 450 bike. For adventure bikes, low and mid-range performance is much needed. The engine on the Himalayan 450 will be primarily focused on that. The torque detail about the engine is not known yet. As compared to the Himalayan 411 there will be lot of design updates on the Himalayan 450.

The bike will get new fuel tank and exhaust design. As the bike is still a Himalayan, there will be a design inspiration from the Himalayan 411 as well. Royal Enfield will offer 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels on the Himalayan 450. The wheel setup is same as of the Himalayan 411 bike. When it comes to suspension, the Himalayan 450 will get upside-down forks with long travel. Other interesting thing about the Himalayan 450 is its ground clearance. We don’t have the number yet, but it will impress most of the adventure bike lovers. The Himalayan 411 has a 220 mm ground clearance which is already a lot.

Royal Enfield will position the Himalayan 450 between the 410cc and 650cc bike segment. The price of the Himalayan 450 could start from Rs 2.7 lakh (ex-showroom). This price is close to the Interceptor 650 bike. After launch, the Himalayan 450 will rival the KTM 390 Adventure. The KTM 390 Adventure bike starts at Rs 3.28 lakh ((ex-showroom).
