Renault has achieved a new sales record for the Duster SUV. The Renault Duster has reached an impressive feat of 2 million sales. It is on sale in 60 different countries around the world. Renault’s sub-brand Dacia estimates that the 2 million Dusters can occupy more than 2,100 football pitches. It also estimates that stacking 2 million Dusters would create a mountain 380 times taller than Mt. Everest. On average, a new Duster SUV leaves the company’s Romania factory in every 63 seconds. It means that the company produce 1,000 Duster SUVs every day on an average.
Renault Duster Specs
The Renault Duster is available with 2 petrol engines. First one is 1.5-litre and the other one is 1.3-litre turbo engine. The 1.5-litre engine puts out 106 PS and 142 Nm. Most powerful engine is the 1.3-litre turbo petrol that packs 156 PS and 254 Nm on the SUV. This makes it the most powerful SUV in its segment. Renault offers manual as well as automatic gearbox on the Duster.
The Renault Duster got a facelift update in 2019. With this update the SUV got revised grille and new headlamp cluster. 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels are also available on the SUV. Inside the cabin, the Duster gets a 7-inch touchscreen system that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The interior also gets a features such as automatic climate control and cruise control. For luggage, the Renault Duster is available with 475 litres of boot space and gets a 205 mm ground clearance.
In its segment, the Renault Duster rivals the best selling Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos as well. The list of rivals also includes the Nissan Kicks, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon SUV. The price of the Renault Duster SUV starts at Rs 9.86 lakh for the base RXS variant. It goes upto Rs 14.25 lakhs for the top RXZ CVT variant.
