On February 15, the new Kia Carens will launch in India. The Carens is Kia’s fourth model for the Indian market. It will be available with a wide range of engines, gearboxes, and trim levels. Bookings are presently being taken, with a deposit of Rs 25,000 being required. The Carens has a familiar MPV-like silhouette with a few crossover-inspired design elements thrown in for good measure. Kia has also gone to great lengths to ensure that the car has its own personality.
Kia Carens Engine
The Carens gets a a 115hp, 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual and also a more powerful 140hp engine. The 1.4-litre turbo-petrol paired with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch. The 115hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or torque converter automatic will be available to buyers.
Kia Carens Variants
The Premium, Prestige, Prestige Plus, Luxury, and Luxury Plus are the five variants available on the Carens. Six airbags, ESC, stability control, hill start aid and hill descent control, a tyre pressure monitor, and all-wheel disc brakes will be standard equipment on all models. All variants will have air conditioning vents in all three rows, as well as a one-touch electric tumble function for the middle-row seat. Fully loaded models, on the other hand, will come with ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with linked technology, a sunroof, an air purifier, and a wireless phone charger, among other features.
Kia Carens Price
The Carens is likely to be priced between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). The rivals here includes the Maruti XL6 and Mahindra Marazzo models, as well as larger three-row SUVs like the Hyundai Alcazar and Mahindra XUV700.
