Kia Carens Production Starts At Anantapur Plant

Kia India has started the production of the Carens MPV. The company rolled out the first model from its Anantapur plant. Kia will launch the Carens MPV in February where we’ll get to know the price of the MPV. On 16 December, 2021 the Kia Carens made its global debut in India. Kia started accepting bookings from 14 January for the Carens MPV. On first day, the Carens registered 7,738 bookings indicating a huge success for the company. To cater 7,000+ bookings first unit of the Carens has rolled out from the Kia India’s plant. All eyes are now on the price of the MPV.

Kia Carens Engine

The Kia Carens gets three engine options. These are the same engine options that we see on the Seltos. The petrol engine includes 1.5-litre and 1.4-litre turbo. Former packs 115hp & 114Nm while latter packs 140hp & 242Nm. There’s also a 1.5-litre diesel that puts out 115hp & 250Nm on the Carens. Petrol engine is available with 6-speed manual & 7-speed DCT. On the other hand the diesel engine only gets an option of 6-speed automatic gearbox.

Kia Carens Variants & Colours

The MPV is available in five variants namely Premium, Prestige & Prestige Plus, Luxury & Luxury Plus. All variants are available in 6 as well as in 7-seater style. Kia is offering 6-seat layout only in the Luxury Plus variant of the MPV. The Carens gets a range of colour options. It will get eight colours that includes Intense Red, Gravity Grey, Glacier White Pearl and Clear White. Other colours on the Carens are Imperial Blue, Moss Brown and Sparkling Silver.

Kia Carens Price

We’ll get to know the price once the MPV will be launched in February. The expected base price of the Carens is in between Rs 12 lakh to Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom). Top variants of the MPV could cost Rs 17 to Rs 19 lakh (ex-showroom). The Kia Carens will rival the Maruti Ertiga and its premium sibling XL6, Hyundai Alcazar and MG Hector in its segment.
