India’s electric vehicle market is picking up pace and several automakers will join it this year. South Korean major Hyundai is planning to launch the Ioniq 5 EV in India. The Ioniq 5 EV got spied testing in India last year. Hyundai has given the Ioniq 5 an ultra-sharp looks all over. It looks modern and retro at the same time due to its edgy design language.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 EV gets two battery packs. First one is of 58kWh and second one is of 72.6kWh size. The 58kWh battery pack offers a range of 354 km while 490 km of range is offered in 72.6kWh battery pack.
The top speed of the Ioniq 5 EV is around 185 km/h. Its base variant can go from 0-100 km/h in 8.5 seconds. The top variant takes just 5.2 seconds to go from 0-100 km/h.
The battery pack of the Ioniq 5 EV can be charged from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes with 350kW fast charger.
Hyundai offers the Ioniq 5 EV in single-motor and dual-motor variant. The base single-motor variant of the car packs 165 BHP and 350 Nm. When it comes to top dual-motor variant the power stands at 298 BHP and torque at 605 Nm.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 India Price
The Ioniq 5 can make its way to India in second half of this year. In USA the car starts at $43,650, which translates to Rs 32.5 lakh. The top variant of the Ioniq 5 EV costs $54,500, this makes to Rs 41 lakh. So in India, the Ioniq 5 EV can costs between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom).
