If you’re having difficulties managing devices on your home Wi-Fi, you can reset your Circle Home Plus to factory defaults as a troubleshooting step.
Table of Contents
When you perform a factory reset on Circle Home Plus, your device list will only show devices that have the Circle app loaded. Because everything is saved in the cloud, a factory reset of Circle Home Plus will have no effect on your Profile configurations, mobile devices, or Circle account information.
Factory Reset Circle Home Plus may be done in two ways:
Reset via the App
- Open the Circle App on your phone.
- Swipe in from the left side of the screen or hit the ‘hamburger’ (three lines) icon to access the sidebar menu.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Remove Circle Home Plus by scrolling to the bottom of the screen.
This will remove Circle Home Plus from your account and will reset Circle Home Plus to factory defaults.
Manual Factory Reset
If your Circle Home Plus has to be reset but isn’t currently attached to a network or isn’t recognised in the Circle App, you’ll have to do it manually.
To manually reset the factory settings, follow these steps:
- For 5 seconds, press and hold the power button.
- After 5 seconds of holding the button, release it and instantly press it again for another 5 seconds.
- Then, once more, press the button (just a quick “click”).
A fast-blinking light should indicate that Circle Home Plus is resetting. Circle Home Plus will reboot after the reset process is completed. Circle Home Plus is ready to be paired to a Wi-Fi network when the light starts blinking slowly and consistently.
In a nutshell, the procedure should go like this: Press & Hold 5 seconds > Press & Hold 5 seconds > Tap Once. If Circle Home Plus does not reset, repeat the instructions, making sure to leave as little time as possible between letting go of the power button and pressing it again.
What does a factory reset do?
The current configuration will be erased, and your Circle will be restored to its original settings, just like it came from the factory. Everything you’ve set up for the device, including your Wi-Fi connection, profiles, and history, will be destroyed, so this should only be used as a last option.
Note: If you successfully factory reset your device using the Circle app menu or the button presses below, the device running your Circle app will receive a notification.
If you’re still having trouble factory resetting your Circle device after completing the steps above, we recommend watching this video. As you watch the video, pay attention to the clicks. To hear the clicks, you might want to turn up the level a little higher than usual. If the LED light flashes slowly to quickly, as shown in the video, you’ll know it took.
Are you still having issues?
You can try setting Circle up and resetting it from the app’s Manage menu. Only the app or the above-mentioned manual button presses can be used to reset the circle. Our customer service team is unable to reset a device remotely, and woe is us.
