Delivery Awaited For Over 7 Lakh Car Buyers Due To Chip Shortage

Ongoing chip shortage has affected the deliveries of over 7 lakh car buyers in the country

  • Maruti Suzuki, Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai and Kia are automakers with highest number of pending orders

Ongoing chip shortage has affected deliveries of over 7 lakh car buyers. Due to chip shortage companies had to resort to decreased production. This led to massive numbers of booking and delay in deliveries. Demand for cars has been boosted further by newly launched models. This includes New Celerio, XUV700, Punch etc.

Booking numbers of different automakers

Awaited 7 Lakh Deliveries

Maruti Suzuki has the highest 2.5 Lakh bookings among the automakers. Newly launched Celerio alone got over 15,000 bookings in very short spam of time.

Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra constitutes a total booking of 3 lakh models. Bookings for each stands at 1 lakh models. Kia India is also sitting on 75,000 bookings. All thanks to Kia’s best selling products Seltos and Sonet.

MG Motor has launched Astor few months back in October. Currently MG Motor has an order book of 46,000 models. VW, Skoda, Toyota, Nissan, Renault, Audi and Mercedes constitutes a total booking of 76,800 models. Mercedes-Benz alone has an order book of around 2,800 models in total.
