Chicago: Homeowner stuck with more than $40,000 in damages after water main break floods house, city denies claim

CHICAGO: We’re finally out of Chicago’s winter, with any luck, but that just means we’re into its other season: construction.

Summer is typically jam-packed with projects, and this one takes place in Bridgeport last year.

Homeowner Steve Balser claimed CBS 2 that municipal workmen flooded his basement, causing him thousands of dollars in damages.

The Chicago Department of Law denies this, but Balser is still litigating almost a year later.
