3 Costco Items That Will Never Rise in Price

The bargains are one of our favourite aspects of Costco. Many of our favourite supermarket and household items are sold at low costs in the big-box store, which keeps customers coming back again and again. However, when it comes to those costs, certain of Costco’s merchandise will remain at the same level as before. That hot dog and drink combo from the food court that you adore? Since the 1980s, the price has remained constant.

While prices may vary significantly depending on your geographic region, the notion remains that some Costco items will not alter in price. Obviously, in extreme circumstances—such as the current inflation spikes—this could change, but these are the things we don’t believe Costco will ever adjust the price of (at least for now).

Food Court Hot Dog and Drink

You should (hopefully) never have to worry about the price of a Costco food court hot dog and drink combo going up. The $1.50 purchase price has stayed constant throughout the years, and when the topic was discussed among executives a few years ago, it was quickly dismissed.

When Costco CEO Craig Jelinek addressed the warehouse’s founder, Jim Sinegal, about a prospective price hike, Sinegal reportedly responded, “I’ll kill you if you raise the [price of the] effing hot dog. Make sense of it.”

Needless to say, Jelinek figured it out, and the pricing has been the same ever since.

Food Court Pizza

For a long time, the pizza at Costco’s food court has stayed the same price. The price of a slice is $1.99, and we expect it to stay that way for the foreseeable future. The pepperoni and cheese pizza is only accessible after the warehouse removed the combo option, which buyers are naturally upset about.

Kirkland Signature Bottled Water

For the longest time, Costco’s Kirkland Signature 40-pack of bottled water cost $2.99, which we assumed would remain constant. Unfortunately, inflation has impacted the water in recent months, and the price has risen to $3.19, but we don’t expect that to change anytime soon. We don’t think Costco will want to change the price again if they can avoid it after holding it at $2.99 for so long.
