2022 Tata Nexon EV Spied With Longer Range & Bigger Battery

2022 Tata Nexon EV will offer 300-320 km of range, all thanks to its bigger 40kWh battery

The Tata Nexon EV is currently the best selling electric car in the market. It accounts 60 percent market share in its segment. This year Tata Motors will give the Nexon EV a much needed update. The 2022 Nexon EV will get a bigger battery pack and hence a longer range variant. Tata Motors has commenced the testing of the car and here are the first spy shots of 2022 Nexon EV.

In 2022 model, the Nexon EV will get 40kWh battery pack. The current Nexon EV gets a 30.2kWh battery pack. The bigger battery pack variant will sell alongside the current model. With 30.2kWh battery pack, the Nexon EV offers a real-time range of 180-200Km. With bigger 40kWh battery pack a good range of 400km can be expected. In real-life the 2022 Nexon EV should offer 300-320km of range.

With bigger battery pack, obviously the weight of the car will increase by as much as 100kg. To accommodate it, Tata Motors will have to make changes in the floor board of the car. The 2022 Nexon EV could offer small boot space in exchange of longer range. Except the new battery pack no other major changes will be made.

2022 Tata Nexon EV Price

The current Nexon EV starts at Rs 14.24 lakh and goes upto Rs 16.85 lakh (ex-showroom). With bigger battery pack, the 2022 Nexon EV could cost Rs 17 lakh-19 lakh (ex-showroom). After launch, it will rival the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona electric SUV. The 2022 update will make the Nexon EV even more dominant in its segment.

Tata Motors has registered TPEML subsidiary for its EV business. The TPEML stands for Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited. The TPEML will help Tata Motors to research, develop and swiftly launch its EVs in future.
