2022 Baleno Production Begins Ahead Of Launch

Maruti will launch the new 2022 Baleno in February and ahead of that the production has commenced

Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to launch the new 2022 Baleno premium hatchback. Launch will take place next month in February. Ahead of launch Maruti has started the production of new Baleno in its Gujarat plant. Maruti Suzuki rolled out first model of new Baleno on 24th January, 2022. In the first picture from the company’s plant the date can be seen. Maruti sells the Baleno through its Nexa dealerships. The new Baleno too will be available only through Nexa dealerships.

So what’s new in the new Baleno? Well the list of updates on the car is huge. Maruti has updated the exterior as well as interior of the car. New Baleno exterior gets a newly designed headlamps and LED DRLs. However it does remind of current Baleno by certain angles. Maruti has given the smiley look on the front of the new Baleno. At the rear, the car gets L shaped tail lights. These lights extend to tailgate and the bumper of the car.

The interior of the new Baleno too is heavily updated. It will get an all new dashboard that looks similar to the new S-Cross unveiled overseas. The touchscreen system will be bigger as compared to 7.0-inch available on the current model. It will support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as well. In latest update the new Baleno will also get wireless charging support. Maruti Suzuki will offer Heads Up Display (HUD) unit on the car too.

2022 Maruti Baleno Six Airbags

As a part of latest update, the new Baleno will get upto six airbags. An option of six airbags will be available only on top models. Maruti Suzuki has used stronger steel to increase the safety on the new Baleno. The Indian spec Baleno scored zero-star in a crash test by Latin NCAP. Tata Motors is way ahead of the Baleno with the Altroz as it got five-star rating in a crash test.

While the exterior and interior of the car is new, this not goes for the engine. The new Baleno will get the same 1.2-Litre petrol engine as of the current model. This engine packs 83hp and 90hp with 12V mild-hybrid technology. With the latest update, the new Baleno will rival the Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza and Hyundai i20 in its segment. Once the new Baleno will be launched, the Glanza will too see an update similar to it.
